چکیده

This paper provides an alternative and highly accurate method in predicting Small Signal Performance of Microwave Amplifier. An Electromagnetic (EM) simulator that based on Finite Element Method (FEM) was used in combination with the conventional SPICE-based microwave circuit simulator in order to demonstrate the superiority in performance outcome such as Rollet Stability Factor (K), Return Loss and Small Signal Gain. The method known as EM/Circuit Co-Simulation assures a microwave amplifier that functions with the first PCB tape-out, therefore multiple PCB layouts can be avoided, which not only reduce development time but also design and manufacturing cost respectively. The method and performance comparisons with the conventional simulator are systematically demonstrated through the design and EM analysis of IEEE 802.16e Mobile WiMAX Power Amplifier (PA). Index Term– Microwave Amplifier, Small Signal Performance, Electromagnetic Simulator, EM/Circuit CoSimulation, Finite Element Method (FEM), IEEE 802.16e Mobile WiMAX

EM/Circuit Co-Simulation: A Highly Accurate Method for Microwave Amplifier Design

This paper features a radical and highly accurate method of designing a microwave amplifier. A Full-wave Electromagnetic Simulator, which is based on the Methodof-Moments (MoM) numerical method, is used in parallel with the conventional microwave circuit simulator to demonstrate a superior performance outcome such as Stability, Return Loss and Small Signal Gain. This method known as EM/Circuit ...

Design and Fabrication of a 9–11 GHz Balanced Low Noise Amplifier Using HJFET

This paper describes the design of an X-band balanced low noise amplifier (LNA) using an available HJFET device. The balanced LNA consists of a pair of electrically similar transistors whose input and output signals are divided or combined by 3 dB two-stage Wilkinson power dividers. The proposed balanced LNA is fabricated and measured. The measured results show that the noise figure is 1.30 dB ...

New LDMOS Model Delivers Powerful Transistor Library— Part 1: The CMC Model

Introduction Non-linear transistor models are being increasingly utilized and demanded by the power amplifier design community because they provide access to multiple simulator capabilities, including DC analysis, as well as analyses of small-signal, nonlinear, time domain, and complex modulation effects. The availability of accurate, validated models eliminates the need for designers to make t...

A Low Power Low Voltage Rail to Rail Constant gm Differential Amplifier with 150 dB CMRR and Enhanced Frequency Performance

This paper proposes a low voltage (±0.55V supply voltage) low power (44.65µW) high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) differential amplifier (d.a.) with rail to rail input common mode range (ICMR), constant transconductance (gm) and enhanced frequency performance. Its high performance is obtained using a simple negative averaging method so that it cancels out the common mode input signals at th...

انتشار تپ در تقویت کننده اپتیکی دو عبوری با همپوشانی دلخواه باریکه‌های لیزر

An analytical model for two-pass optical amplifier with arbitrary beams overlap has been developed which generalized the classical theory of Frantz-Nodvik for single pass amplifier. The effect of counterpropagating beams on gain and output energy fluence included in the model. Moreover, the appropriate limiting relations for two special cases of weak input signal and saturation state of the amp...
